Hint: For B4 Property 8, consider V(X/sqrt(V(X))+Y/sqrt(V(Y))).
- Homework 2: 1.1, 1.8, 1.10, 1.16, 1.18. Due on 2/6/08.
- Homework 3: 2.1, 2.2, 2.8, 2.10. Due on 2/13/08.
- Homework 4: 3.4. (Note: compare two estimators, sample mean estimator and ratio estimator) Due on 2/20/08.
- Homework 5: Do the numerical computing of Example 3.6 on Page 75. Due on 2/27/08.

Hint: For 4.2, the stratum sizes are 1054 for NC, 220 for NE, 1382 for S, and 422 for W.
